It has been a busy week in the classroom as we are gearing up for our Biztown simulation in a couple of weeks. We held our classroom primary election for Biztown's Mayor. Congratulations to Alli D. who was elected by her classmates to represent us in the general election on Monday. One student from each of the three classes will give a short speech, and then the entire fifth grade will vote on our mayor.
We also had our job interviews on Friday. From what I heard, it was very successful. The interviewers were very impressed with how prepared and professional all of the students were. It was a good experience for the kids to experience what an interview is like. Ms. Luther, Mrs. Himmelright, and I are going to work hard this week to fill all of the job positions, and we will be giving employment letters to the kids by the end of next week.
We are going to have our fall harvest party the afternoon of October 31. Please let me know if you would like to be part of a planning team for the party. In the past we have had 3-4 different activities that the kids can choose from, with a parent or two at each station. It has been fairly easy to plan in the past, so please let me know if you are willing to help out.
Have a great weekend!
