Winter, January 2017

posted Jan 15, 2017, 12:40 PM by Sandi Emmert

The winter weather has hit hard in the Portland area during the December and January months. Sherwood has experienced a number of inches of snow, some freezing rain and record cold temperatures. This has caused the Sherwood District schools to be closed seven days, so far, this school year.  Although the kids are loving the fun in the snow, it has left the SSD staff and parents wondering how this will affect the 2016-2017 school calendar. We will keep you up to date on any calendar changes that may occur.

Welcome, 2017!

The Sherwood School District resumed classes on Wednesday, January 4th. Students and staff came back ready to dive into learning and teaching!

Archer Glen welcomed new students in December and January. We are excited to have these students and families join our AG community.

As our principal, Mr. Smith. said in his weekly message  "Here’s to 2017 and all the promise that it holds."

The Sherwood School District Winter Break came early this year with snow starting on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 14th. Students had been released at 12:15 pm for Early Release, teacher and staff  Collaborative Learning Time,  which helped to get students home before the roads were snowy and icy.  Schools were closed Thursday and Friday due to treacherous road conditions.

School will resume for teachers on Tuesday, January 3rd and for students and all staff on Wednesday, January 4th.
