Mental Health Resources

posted Jun 30, 2017, 3:21 PM by Sandi Emmert

Mental Health Resources:  In March 2017, Netflix released a series titled 13 Reasons Why, based on a novel, which centers on sexual assault and teen suicide. While the story is fictitious, the content, at times using graphic language and images, deals with serious issues that affect youth today.  For some students, the subject matter of the program, or resulting conversations with peers, may be upsetting, especially for those who struggle with thoughts of suicide.

During the school year, school counselors are available to support students who are struggling emotionally.  In the summer, while schools are closed, there are mental health resources available in the community:

  • 24-Hour Washington County Crisis Line: (503)291-9111

  • Hawthorne Walk-In Center: (503)846-4555, located at 5240 NE Elam Young Parkway #100, Hillsboro, OR 97124

  • National Suicide Prevention: (800)273-8255 / Español (888)628-9454

4th Grade Play - My Oregon Report

posted May 23, 2017, 3:12 PM by Sandi Emmert

The 4th Grade students at Archer Glen will be performing My Oregon Report on Wednesday, May 24th at 8:30 am for Dress Rehearsal and 7:00 pm for the main production. The performance will take place in the Archer Glen cafeteria and stage.

The students have practiced for months and have dedicated many hours to learning lines, songs and dances. Our 4th grade teachers, Artist In Residence and a large group of volunteers have invested hours with the students on songs, dances, staging, costumes and set.

We are excited for the kids to show family, friends and the community what they have learned about the Oregon Trail in the classroom and on stage this year in this fun production.
