The City of Sherwood has hired a contractor to perform work within SW Division Street, west of Main Street. There will be times when pedestrian traffic will not be able to pass through this area due to construction. There will be barricades with signs to notify when the closure is in place. We anticipate that we will need to close Division Street for a day this week to remove a large tree, likely Thursday. We will let you know if the day changes. We will do our best to keep you informed of days that pedestrian access will be restricted, however with construction it is not always easy to get out notice for every stage of the process. As a rule of thumb, if the barricade at the end of St Barbara Way, at the school gate, is up then pedestrians should use an alternate route.
Spring Break starts next week. Have a great week off Archer Glen Staff and Students!

Important -- District Plan for Making Up Inclement Weather Days: Please see a memo linked here sent from Superintendent Heather Cordie to families and the community today, which details how the District is planning to make up instructional hours for students in Sherwood Schools. The Board of Directors approved the proposed plan on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the regular Board meeting. A revised 2016-17 District Calendar reflecting these changes is attached to the memo, or can be viewed at the calendar link here.
The winter weather has hit hard in the Portland area during the December and January months. Sherwood has experienced a number of inches of snow, some freezing rain and record cold temperatures. This has caused the Sherwood District schools to be closed seven days, so far, this school year. Although the kids are loving the fun in the snow, it has left the SSD staff and parents wondering how this will affect the 2016-2017 school calendar. We will keep you up to date on any calendar changes that may occur.
